A nearly half-million-dollar building permit was submitted this week for FedEx.
The permit was filed April 4 for “interior modification, 2nd floor” at 942 S. Shady Grove Road.
Grinder, Taber & Grinder Inc. was listed as the contractor, The Crump Firm Inc. Architects as the architect and FedEx Corporate Services as the owner/tenant.
When asked to comment on the roughly $420,000 permit, FedEx Corp. provided the following statement:
“This permit is for interior modifications at our corporate headquarters on Shady Grove, and Grinder, Taber & Grinder will be the contractor on this project.”
FedEx did not comment beyond that statement.
Memphis-based FedEx Corp. serves more than 220 countries and territories across the globe and employs more than 400,000 people. The company reported $16.5 billion in revenue for its third quarter 2018 earnings, released March 20. Earlier in March, FedEx Corp. announced its plans to invest $1 billionto modernize its Memphis SuperHub at the Memphis International Airport.
