Walt Reed, AIA | Vice President - Architecture, Principal
For more than 30 years, Mr. Reed has served The Crump Firm's clients as Project Director or Project Architect on projects involving new buildings, master planning, office programming, space planning and interior design. As Vice President of Architecture, he leads the day to day activities of the architectural design staff. Walt’s primary areas of experience are in healthcare, educational, governmental, corporate, recreational, DoD, and other large projects.
Walt was responsible for managing the design effort of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s new Kay Research and Care Center, along with the Marlo Thomas Center for Global Education and Collaboration. Walt also directed the design of the new ALSAC Office Building, completed 2018, and for the last two years has led the design team for the new St. Jude Advanced Research Center set for completion in 2021. Previously Walt managed the Smith & Nephew Orthopaedic HQ Relocation design team, which renovated and built out 300,000 square feet of office, conference center, and lab space. He served as Project Architect for design and as Program Manager for the $242-million new Tennessee Air National Guard Base at Memphis International Airport. On all of these projects, Walt has conducted extensive programming phases, and has managed the efforts of large teams of engineers and special consultants.
