Returning an old Memphis Cotton company to Downtown—on the 27th floor of the historic One Commerce Square building—Cargill’s global headquarters relocation project speaks to the resilience of the company and the city it calls home. Designed just before the pandemic hit, the Cargill and Crump Design team envisioned a dynamic work space that would bring the Cargill Team together with multiple points of collaboration while still allowing for personal and private space. It was a challenge and a success with a positive testimony to the team who kept the project moving forward during an unprecedented period in our history.
Designed with a flexible work environment in mind, the new headquarters features no enclosed private offices. The space is completely open allowing teams and leadership to work together, while also providing meeting and collaboration spaces for groups of varying size. Aligned with Cargill’s goals to attract and maintain top talent in the heart of Downtown Memphis, the new office features sweeping views of the city. The design also reflects Cargill’s character through the choice to use renewable and recyclable materials that exemplify the cotton industry.
